Simulation of Activities of Daily Living (ADL) ✍🏻

Activities of Daily Living (ADL) is the things we normally do in daily living including any daily activity we perform for self-care such as feeding ourselves, bathing, dressing, grooming, work, homemaking, and leisure. πŸ‘—πŸšΏπŸ™†πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

How am I going to practice these ADL’s skills with my children? As play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning, simulation of ADL through play are one of the ways. πŸ’‘πŸ€”

As shown in the picture, our kid is having some fun in scooping the coloured aquarium gravel by using a fork and spoon. 🍴

These are some of the foundation skills needed for the child in performing. This activity helps the children in:

βœ”οΈ Establish wrist flexibility (hand movement) and shoulder stabilization.
βœ”οΈ Encourage eye-hand coordination skills
βœ”οΈ Establish sustain and focus attention skills
βœ”οΈ Encourage bilateral hands (both hands) skills
